TIBBERAGHNY BOG (Co Kilkenny): 180 Greylag Geese, 55 Whooper Swans & 4 Little Egrets. (PMW).

RAM HEAD: 3+ Fin Whales & 20 Common Dolphins (AM).

WATERFORD CITY: Female Blackcap still present at St Herblain park, also Redwings & Fieldfares today (KB & BB).

DUNGARVAN: Male & female Blackcap daily at Strandside, Abbeyside (DC).

TRAMORE: 2 Redwings in garden (first ever for the garden) (Anne Phelan).

WATERFORD CITY: Male Blackcap around garden at King's Channel (6th-8th January) (DMcG).

CROHAUN: Long-eared Owl hunting at 7 pm (DC).

DUNGARVAN: Black-necked Grebe still showing well off Ballynacourty Pier, Gold Coast (MC Sr).

DUNGARVAN: Black-headed Gull (Left leg yellow colour-ringed 238B), ringed at Lough Mask, Mayo in 2007 on beach in front of the Gold Coast Hotel. This bird was previously seen in July 2009 at nearby Ballinclamper. In the very same area, a colour-ringed Bar-tailed Godwit was seen, believed to be part of a Dutch ringing scheme.
